The star collapses from an initial static configuration by dissipating energy in the form of a radial heat flux. The perturbation in the density and pressure pro-files are such that the star is always close to hydrostatic equi-librium. The temperature profiles are studied using a causal heat transport equation.7 penGravitational collapseExact solutionsEinstein’s field equationsRadiating star modelExtended irreversible thermodynamicsGravitational collapse in spatially isotropic coordinatesArticlehttps://doi.org/10.1007/s10509-015-2616-9
